Community Clinic in Roselle Nov. 9th
Casting Call for Young Dancers!

Foubourg Theatre is holding a free casting call for younger dancers next Saturday, October 26th at 10AM-11AM for their annual Christmas Show - A Spirit Filed Christmas. 

The performance will be held on Saturday, December 21st at 7:30PM at Lake Park HS West.  This is a great opportunity for children ages 5-18, all levels of experience.

Join us for TRUNK OR TREAT!

Please join us for the 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat hosted at Spring Wood MS parking lot on Thursday, 10/31 from 4:30pm-6:30pm.  The event is being organized by Tanglewood Resident Committee in partnership with Habitat for Humanity's Greenbrook Tanglewood Neighborhood Revitalization Coalition, in which District 20 is a member.  We are looking for help hosting kid-friendly decorated trunks/vehicles, running games, and/or face painting.  We are also looking for you to bring your families by for some candy, games & fun on Halloween!  We hope to see you there!

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month!

Dare to Dream has been busy creating a special wall to help celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15th - Oct. 15th.  We are proud to recognize the contributions made and the important presence of Hispanic and Latino Americans in District 20!

Keeneyville D20 Family Picnic was Fun for All!

The Back to School Picnic on 10/3 was a fun gathering for families across the district.  We had a great turnout despite the damp and chilly weather, and the grill was going all night!  Families came to eat, play games, dance, and catch-up with friends.  It was a wonderful celebration of the Keeneyville D20 Family and we are excited for future Parent Cafe events!

SPRING WOOD SCHOOL NEWS & EVENTS

Join Us for the Honor Roll Celebration!

Come celebrate the success of your student for being on the Honor Roll on Monday, Nov. 18th from 6-7pm in the Thunderdome (main gym).  Invites will be sent to qualifying students on Nov. 14th.

Math/Science Enrichment with IMSA FUSION

We are excited to announce that the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) has partnered with D20 to sponsor IMSA FUSION - an after-school enrichment program for 6-8th Grade Students who are talented, interested, and motivated in science and math. 

Must commit to attend sessions after school until 4:15 pm, one day per week, Oct. 26th through May 18th, and an occasional Saturday.  Cost of program is $50 to help with materials, scholarships are available.  Students may apply, selection will be based on teacher recommendation, academic performance, standardized test performance, and student essay.  Applications due to science or math teacher by this Friday, 10/18See Mr. Benages or Mr. Harris, IMSA FUSION Team Coordinators for more information.

Staff Basketball Game

The Thunderdome was an exciting place at the Staff vs. Staff Basketball game!  The crowd was cheering, jeering, and laughing the whole time!  And the Spring Wood Staff did not disappoint!  What fun to see the energy both on and off the court!

SWMS - Let's Read & Conquer!

The Spring Wood Battle of the Books Competition will be starting soon. Students will create teams, read, and strive to bring the trophy home to SWMS! Register now in the SW Library.

Help Warm Souls With Soles During Socktober!

SWMS Charger Changers are helping to support a month long community sock drive to prove that even the smallest act of caring - like donating a pair of new socks - can help make a huge difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless.  Socktober is a national sole warming movement that gives everyone an easy and fun way to help those in need in their community by donating a pair of new socks to keep them warm through the night.  Visit Charger Changers for more information.
