Frequently Asked Questions

1.  What day is the 8th Grade Promotion?

         The event will be on Wednesday, May 25th.
2.  What time does it start, and when should we arrive?
The ceremony starts promptly at 6:00 pm.  Students should arrive between 5:15 and 5:30 pm.
3.  Where is the promotion ceremony being held?
Due to the weather forecast, the ceremony will now be held at the at Lake Park West High School in the gymnasium.
4.  How many tickets will each student receive for family and friends to attend?
Each student has received six tickets for family and friends to attend.  No more tickets will be offered due to space. If you haven't picked them up yet, you can in the SW office.
5.  Will this event be live streamed?
Yes, the event will be live streamed and recorded for future viewing.  Please go to https://youtu.be/TDE78DWIM-M to watch the event.
6.  Will students have a promotion practice?
Yes, our mandatory promotion practice is the same day, Wednesday, May 25th from 8:00 - 9:30 am at Spring Wood Middle School.
7.  What time does the school day end for our students on May 25th?

This is an early release day for our 8th grade students.  They will be dismissed at 12:00 pm.  We will have our regular bus routes take the students home or they can be picked up.  Students that normally walk home, can walk home at this time as well.  

8.  Is there an end of year party for students?

We will be having our end of the year party on May 25th from 9:30 am-12:00 pm.  

9.  What if my student did not earn the end of year party?

If a student did not earn the party, they will need to be picked up at 9:30 (after the  practice). There will be no bussing at this time.    If you cannot pick up your student at this time, an alternate activity will take place, and they will be dismissed at noon with their peers.

10.  What should my child wear to the ceremony?

All students should wear their gown and comfortable shoes.  The clothes underneath the gown should be school appropriate.  This is a formal event, so everybody should look nice.  They should NOT wear their gown to school tomorrow.
